The Girls Were Back In Town

As the title indicates Rachel and the girls went into town today. Rachel wanted to do some shopping without the constraint of having to get anything in particular done. She wanted to price a few things and talk to our land lady about some little issues we have with the house. They headed out just after breakfast and were gone for a few hours.

Before I continue I want to share a couple of pictures Libby wanted taken last night.

Those are bugs that attracted her attention. She took the first picture of the bug on her window. I took the second of the bug in the bathroom.

Anyways, this morning went well. I've decided I really have to take some shortcuts with the D20 system. The more I think about it the more I realize I need to get it functional and then add frills. My original vision was to have almost everything auto-calculate so that data entry and management would be easier. Really though, in the short run that will cost more time then it saves. Plus, going back and adding auto-calculation for Armor Class and things like that will be a piece of cake. So, I can get it working quickly in the short run and invest the time to make it truly awesome in the long run.

While I was working away on that Rachel was leading the girls from one store to another. I really need to get her to take more pictures while she's in town. Either way, here's what she took.

She found some very reasonable prices by looking around. For instance, she found Mozzarella cheese for like EC$12.99/US$4.81 a pound and got peperoni for about half what she paid last time. (Yea, we had pizza again tonight.) She also found some cheap goggles, although she didn't buy any today.

We really need to save as much money as we can. We just put the “holding deposit” down on the house in Pont Casse today. Apparently it's completely unfurnished. Somehow I had overlooked that in the lease. It's not a big deal as we need our own appliances and furniture down here anyway, but it is going to put a dent in our wallet. As always, we ask you to keep us in your prayers. We have a lot to get and want to get the best deals we can.

Moving on: The kids wanted to go to the sea.

Sadly the warden wasn't down there. Also, for whatever reason, I was a little burned out today. I just didn't feel like staying down there for more than about half an hour. Of course, I would have stayed if I'd had a mask, lol.

Once again the day has vanished like smoke. I was planning to spend the weekend laying around as much as possible, but Dilian wants us to go out to Pont Casse. He wants me to see the place before I sign the lease. I think he's being overly cautious, but I agreed to go. (After all, he may be right. He knows the place better than I do.) Of course, Josian pointed out that we could go to Emerald Pool while we were out that way. That will certainly make the task more pleasant. So, Lord willing, I'll be able to blog about my experiences there Saturday night.

That's all for now. Good night from Dominica!

  1. Loved the pics of the girls in town. I can't wait to see the pics of Pont Casse and and the Emerald Pool. Wesley and Myrtle said they would like to see more pics of you. Be sure Dilian takes some of you and all the family while you are checking out Pont Casse and the Emerald Pool. Looking forward to being there soon.
