Step By Step

I awoke after a night that started hot and ended cool with the hopes of getting a great deal done. I'm glad to say that's just what happened. I plowed through my e-mail, got some Console Classix work that had been hanging over me out of the way, did some work on the forums, made progress on the wiki, played Civ 5 for about an hour, and pressed on with my D20 System Asset code. Somewhere in the middle of all that Rachel and I took a little walk.

One of the things we noticed is that they've been working on the road up near the Bellot's.

The above is a bread fruit tree. We still haven't gotten any bread fruit yet...

With all the pictures we did manage to get I regret the fact that we didn't get any pictures of the beautiful little humming birds that were flitting about. We tried. We knew you guys would love to see them, but they were just too quick. Oh well, those of you who come down will be able to catch a glimpse of them :)

After I wrapped up my work for the day we headed down to the sea. (No kidding, right?)

Fortunately the warden was down there, so we got some snorkeling equipment.

I found a conch shell while I was snorkeling around. It was covered in some kind of growth, but I picked it up anyway. I learned something when I did. Watch what you pick up... A blue and green eel came out of as I held it in my hand swimming feet below the surface. Fortunately, it was intent on escape and nothing more. Still, I should probably get some gloves before I go grabbing things like this off the bottom.

Shortly after I found that, we headed home.

Once we were back I played a little Tanks and worked on my maze generator. I did some checking and there are some similar assets in the asset store, but I plan to make mine a very complete package. I spent about an hour prepping it up to be “asset material”. I expect that in a few weeks of spare time I'll have it ready put up. Then I'll be able to use it in future games, along with people who are willing to give me $5 or so :)

It's a little early, but I'm wrapping it up here for the night. I didn't sleep as well as I could have and I'm a little tired and want to do some more relaxing. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the pictures. Good night from Dominica!

  2. Funny to see all the flowers there that we have here like the lantana. Our gardenia bush is really blooming and smells great now. I got a small one today at Walmart and now hve to figure where to put it. Also funny that I bought myself a pair of pink shoes just like Rachels this week. I looked at the goggles at Walmart to day and got some ideas on that stuff.

    1. The kids really want to get a bunch of snorkeling equipment. I expect Caleb is going to be able to swim in the next couple of weeks. He can already keep his head above water and paddle around.

    1. Ben basically goes when I make him. He prefers to stay home having a goof off, lol.
