Sickly Sunday

Last night we had a wonderful storm. It rained like crazy and the wind was blowing so much water into our room that I had to get up and close the curtains to keep out the flood. I got up not feeling 100% and Rachel awoke plain out, old fashioned, sick. Ben is also under the weather. The other kids are in stages of sick and recovered. We may have pressed ourselves a little too much yesterday.

As a result of our general ill health the Scotts Head congregation had it's first “Ethridge free” Sunday since we got here. I puttered around playing games and working on my maze generator. I made a lot of progress and got a little relaxing done. I'm still burned out and wish I didn't have work tomorrow, lol. I love my job, I'm just not running on all cylinders at the moment. Of course, I may feel great by tomorrow morning.

Anyway, when I got up it was still pouring down outside.

Needless to say, the whole family spent most of the day inside. It's fortunate that I have more pictures to share with you from yesterday. Mainly it's just some shots of Pont Casse. We had to pass through Roseua on the way out. I actually filmed the trip from Soufriere to Roseua, but I'll have to share that with you another time.

After that we headed more into the “country”.

It's a beautiful place. I think we're really going to like it. Anyways, late in the day Caleb wanted me to take him to the sea. He was the only one that felt up to going, but I took him. When we got down there I decided we shouldn't go in because the weather had stirred things up a bit. It was cool, overcast, and the water was murky (at least for around here.) Caleb was a little disappointed, but he took it well. Maybe tomorrow the weather will clear up a bit.

That's all for the moment. I'm burned out and ready to call it a night. So, good night from Dominica!

  1. Hope everyone feels better by tomorrow. I felt so sorry for Caleb not being able to get in the water, but glad he took it well. I saw yesterday there was some kind of warning because of a storm off the coast of Dominica. Thanks for the pics! Love you all, Mom

    1. Well, he's already gotten to go to the sea this morning, so he didn't have long to wait, lol. I'll probably explain why that was in my post tonight :)
