All By Myself
You may have noticed that I opened with another picture. Why? Why not? Lovely isn't it? We see things like that all day everyday. And, yes, it's nice. Anyway, I woke up close to on time this morning and got to work immediately. I had many pages worth of game related information to type up. In fact, I sat typing for about five hours this morning. While I was working away Rachel got up and started taking pictures. The first was of something the locals call a quarter bag.
That's a 25lb. bag of flour. We've eaten our way through the one I bought about two weeks ago. I still need to find out if buying the full 100lbs. would lower the price. Anyways, she took a few pictures of the kids and even got one of me working away.
Shortly after Noon I headed to town all on my own. I caught the bus, having waited for less than 15 minutes, and headed into town. When I arrived in Roseau my favorite bus driver (excluding brother Freddy, of course) Ziggy was just getting a load up to go back to Soufriere. I had time to wander around and snap a load of pictures before heading back to the bus. Ziggy had actually pulled off before I got back, but he headed the direction I had taken and had saved a seat for me. Either way, here are the pictures I took. :)
While I had been gone Dilian had come over and cooked “Broth” for lunch. Basically they make a soup with meat and put in dumplings and green bananas. It is very filling, very good for you, and very low cost.
Shortly after lunch we had a visit. It was one I think my Mom would be interested in. We took some pictures of the visitor.
We have no idea what kind of bird that was, but Mom E. may look it up :) Shortly after that we had a number of human visitors arrive. They had come to see Caleb, of course, but mingled with the rest of the family as well. One of them even did a little something with Felicity's hair.
They hung around until it was time for us to head down to the sea. As usual I took a number of photos. I hope they please Mom Y.
A number of Caleb's friends were at their normal haunt. He stopped to talk for a moment or two before we continued along.
Felicity also met some people while we were at the beach. She's popular with the teenage girls around here. When Alec get's down here he'll want to stick close to her side :)
We hope it won't be long before we can receive visitors here. I got an e-mail from Mr. Armstrong today saying they're working on getting the lease put together. It looks like it will be mid-August before we can get in that other house. Of course, there's another house here in Soufriere that Dilian wants us to look at. We hope to go see it tomorrow.
In any event, it looks like I'm going to have a great deal to do tomorrow. So, I want to do my best to get to bed early. In aid of that I'm going to wrap up here. Good night from Dominica!

Loved the pics of the visitors---both the kids and the birds. Also, thanks for the pic on the porch. Next time get Dilian to take a close up (as close as he can) of ALL of you on the porch! Love you all!
