Emerald Pool
Today was Saturday. That probably doesn't come as a surprise to most of you. If it was a surprise then you should probably get out more. Anyways, as a result of it being the weekend I wasn't working on my normal schedule. I still had my e-mail work to do, but after that I was able to work on my maze generator for a couple of hours. I'm adding a bunch of little features that should be useful no matter what generation method is used to make the maze. I made a good bit of progress before the Bellot's showed up to wait on brother Freddy.
We planned to go to Pont Casse today and, thank the Lord, those plans worked out. I had never been there before. I can now tell my parents that they are going to love it. It reminded me so much of our trips to the blue ridge mountains that it was almost like reliving childhood experiences. For them it's going to be a lot like heaven on Earth.
I'm also hoping that Mom Yates is going to like it. I think if we could get Dad Yates to come for a visit he would really enjoy it as well. :) I mention all this because the house we're planning to lease starting next month is located in Pont Casse.
It has a lot going for it. One of the cool things about it is that it's only about 10 minutes from Emerald Pool. That's something that is absolutely worth seeing. To share as much as I could I took a lot of pictures. In fact, I took so many that I'm not going to post them all today. I want to save some for tomorrow. Either way, let's get started!
It's not really a 15 minute walk IMO. It might take 15 minutes if you meander, lol.
You get some pretty good looks at the pool as you approach.
That waterfall will just about beat your brains out.
By the way, that water is COLD. It is almost as cold as the water in the blue ridge mountains. For some reason it didn't seem to effect Felicity though...
Felicity found a snail and Caleb was given a toy crab by one of the ladies selling things. (He was in a bad mood... The gift lifted his spirits a good bit.
Anyway, enough pictures. Now for some video :)
Uncle Grover, if you don't recognize what we were doing in the video and pictures they call it “living”. You may want to give it a try before it's too late, lol.
On the way back brother Freddy's car battery died. Fortunately, we were close to home and a friend was able to run another one out to him.
Needless to say, it's been a full rich day. I hope to share some more of the trip with you tomorrow. For the moment, however, I wish you a very good night from Dominica!

You are right. It does resemble the Blue Ridge mountains, but it's even prettier. I guess if one gets too hot, Emerald Pool is the place to go--lol. Looks like you had an AWESOME Saturday. I'm ready to be there already. All I did today was sit in my chair--lol. I could tell that water was cold by the way the kids were "scrunched" up with their arms wrapped around themselves. Like you said, didn't seem to phase Felicity! Wonderful pics and video! Love you all,

We had a great time. However, we pressed ourselves a bit I guess. Rachel wasn't feeling 100% yesterday, but she wanted to go anyway. She's a little sicker this morning and some of the kids are a little under the weather as well. So, we're going to have to take it easy for a day or two, lol.
