Another Sunday

Today was our fifth Sunday on the nature island. I had a bit of a rough night last night and woke up a little groggy. I was practicing diving down to the bottom yesterday and must have overdone it. I had a bit of an earache through a good portion of the night. It's still not quite right, but it's a lot better than it was.

Either way, I ended up getting up a little after seven. I got ready for Church and then immediately got to work. I wanted to finish the document describing our game demo today. I had gotten a lot done by the time the bus showed up to pick us up. This time we were basically ready when it got here. It was a bit of a change of pace for us to be running on time.

Both Bible class and the service went well. I think if Mom E. were here to help with children's Bible class it would be appreciated. Dilian's Mom handled it this morning and did fine, but we have a lot of kids, lol. Either way I took a few pictures while we were there.

As soon as we got home from Church I got back to work. In about an hour and a half I had the document finished. I decided to go for another explore before I resumed playing Dwarf Fortress. I picked up at the cross roads I had come to the other day.

As I continued on I took a picture of a rather interesting yard.

I'm not sure what the terraces are for, but they make the place look nice. The road I was following led deeper into the woods and I got a couple of pictures of what I now know to be an ant's nest.

The road soon lead to a dead end, but not before it offered me a spectacular view.

The road was seriously edged in by the forest. I got a picture of a very large lizard eating a mango. Those guys are all over the place down here.

It's funny how you can walk past little buildings set just off the road time and time again without noticing them. I took a picture of one I had walked by I don't know how many times before I noticed it today.

Of course, there's so much to see here it's easy to get distracted. Views like this often grab your attention.

I got back and played DF for a couple of hours. Then the kids wanted us to go down to the sea. Once again we left Ben with the baby (which was what he wanted) and went down for a quick swim.

The kids decided to roll one of the logs in to play with. They had a great time with it.

We only stayed about a half an hour. I'm still not feeling 100%. I expect I'll be better tomorrow though. Dilian and I are supposed to find out about getting us a car. Having one will make some things easier and others more enjoyable. All in all the week has started well and I have high hopes for it. For the moment, however, I need to go. I've got some resting up to do before tomorrow. So, good night from Dominica.
