The Curse Of Contagion

Personally, I don't think there was any disease until after Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. Obviously I don't have any proof of that. It just seems to make sense to me. I can't imagine sitting around the garden of Eden with the Flu... Anyways, it really doesn't matter now. Even if sickness didn't show up until after the great flood it's still here now. And I don't mean “here” in just a general kind of metaphorical way. I mean HERE. Like at my house. Right now. Yes, just as Caleb seems to be getting better Isaac is getting sick. He's got a fever and doesn't seem up to much more than cuddling with his mother. Admittedly he did feel up to more than that last night. Here, I'll show you:

Last night he got the Corona udder balm (which we use for diaper rash ointment) and rubbed a generous amount into his hair. Now, this stuff is kind of like a lanolin based grease. It's not exactly the kind of thing you just wash out of your hair. In fact Rachel had to use Dawn dish soap as well as shampoo on his head over the course of several washings just to get his hair where it didn't just feel like grease. Even today it's still in his hair. It's not bad, but it is still there, lol. Kids do some crazy things with their hair.

Anyways, in spite of the general “feeling poorly” around here we did manage to get our car back from Mom and Dad E. Dad finally got his car back on the road. The transmission seems to be working like a champ, thank the Lord! However, there is something going on with the electrical system. Part of that system is the radiator fan. It seems it didn't want to work today. As a result Dad's van overheated and we had to sit on the side of the road for a half and hour or so waiting on it to cool down. Once it had we cranked it up and drove it home. Dad has got to try to track down the electrical problem. Until he does he's going to have to keep a real eye on the van's temperature gauge.

In other news, the Kickstarter campaign is going very well on two fronts. First, we've now raised over $21K. Obviously that's great news. We're not quite half way through the campaign yet, so the future is looking very good. Second, our greenlight campaign is moving forward at a very good pace. In fact, last night we reached position 100 out of over 1,400 games. By the time I got up this morning we had moved up to #95. If the pace keeps up we may very well be greenlit before our KS campaign ends. I'm hoping and praying that all this is going to come together to put us into a really good bargaining position with the publisher. For my own part I could really use a cash advance and I'd like them to lower the % they want for publishing the game. The better the KS and greenlight goes the more likely we are to get what I want :)

In any event, I started this post early so I could end it early. I've only gotten to play a little SWTOR today and I want to slip into the weekend ASAP. I have to take Libby to Grannie's here in a minute and then I want to get a little dinner when I get back. Either way, I need to run. So, goodnight from South Carolina!

  1. Loved the pics! I tried to save those pics of Isaac so I could post them on fb, but my computer says something is wrong with my pictures file. I'll have to bring my laptop to Granny's tomorrow night so you can look at it and see if it's something simple. Anyway, hope you have a restful weekend. Daddy is out working on our van now-----yikes! Hope he gets it fixed.

    1. Lord willing Dad will get the van up and running like it should be. :)

And, of course, I should be able to help you with your laptop. :) :)
