Another Late Start
So, today was far busier than I thought it would be. To start with we had a bit of a rough night last night. As a result I got up late. My e-mail work wasn't bad, but I had a good sinus headache. In fact, we deiced to stay home from Church. That's not a very common occurrence for us, but it happens from time to time. Still, it seems it was a passing thing. I felt better later in the day, although I do have a bit of a headache now. Anyways, it took me around an hour to find a publisher to submit to this morning. I had to go through a pile of “vanity press”es before I found one that struck me as a legitimate publisher. (Which reminds me that I may hear from one of the publishers next week. Remember to keep me in your prayers.) Once I had finally gotten the submission sent (along with the little work that cropped up while I was doing that) it was time to start working on today's KS update.
At the moment I'm writing several pages of text each day. By the end of this campaign my word count would probably be enough to have finished another book. I'm sure I've already written more than a book's worth since I started working on Worlds of Magic. Of course, it really is worth it. At the moment we've raised over $9,000 dollars. I feel confident that we'll have hit our first stretch goal by the time I get up tomorrow. Our second goal will be at the $20k mark. That will probably take us a few days to reach, but we have some promotional ideas that should help speed things up. In fact, we did an interview today that will probably drive a bit of traffic our way. I'm hoping it will also lead to more interviews.
That's enough about work. Now I'll explain about the pictures. The first few are of a snake Isaac found on the porch this morning. As soon as he spotted it he came to get me. It was just a little rat snake, but I took a few pictures of it. The camera betrayed me... Usually it does closeups pretty good. Not this time. One day I'll have money to get a better camera and time to learn how to use it.
Later in the day we went to Mom and Dad Y's for dinner. MoM Y. had made roast, potatoes, green beans, and noodles. It was very good and very filling. Still I couldn't stay long. I had to head home to work on some forum's posts and that interview. I took a brief walk around the neighborhood during one of my breaks. People are already putting out Halloween decorations. It seems it's a big holiday in this neighborhood. I'm not sure we'll be here for it though. We always go to the Winfield Heights Halloween party.
That will have to be enough for the moment. It's after 6PM and I want to get some rest. I expect to have a busy day tomorrow. So, goodnight from South Carolina!
