Now I've Got It
Yes, whatever it is, I seem to have a touch of it now. Last night I woke up at about 11:30PM and my sinuses were a little clogged up and very painful. I managed to get back to sleep pretty quickly, thank the Lord, but I had a weird night. I had strange dreams. The only one I remember was that Worlds of Magic managed to raise over $100K with this second campaign. I hope it's a sign, lol. Really as well as it's gone so far there's a real chance for that to happen. (There would be if we could get a little more press coverage anyway.) Either way, the point is that I got up about an hour late this morning and felt like a truck had hit me. When I first sat down to get to work I had trouble typing because my eyes didn't want to open and my brain was still rattled. I typed some bizarre things before I decided I had better stop and give my brain a chance to fire up. Fortunately I was able to read and understand what I was typing even if my hands were doing it all on their own. Otherwise I would have sent some strange messages out this morning, lol.
Once I finally managed to get down to work (after some coffee had been brewed) I had a few e-mails to attend to and then more forums work to do. With my late start I didn't feel up to sending out a manuscript. I took a look at one publisher, but they wanted some information I hadn't put together yet, so I just threw it in the “later” pile to get to when I feel a little better. Even right now I feel like I'm typing in a haze. It's hard to focus on what I'm saying and stick to a single theme. It's just lack of sleep combined with a lot of coffee drinking. The caffeine keeps me awake, but it doesn't keep me completely focused. Still, I suppose it's easier to focus my thoughts in my current state of mind than it would be if I were asleep, lol.
The campaign marches on and we draw nearer and nearer to the $18K line. Lord willing we'll pass that mark tonight. I really want to see us reach 1,000 backers as well. We're doing what we can to get the word out. I think Les is planning to launch his own personal media campaign tomorrow. Hopefully he'll get some attention. A few more articles or interviews could really help bring in some new blood. One thing all this has taught me is that good PR people are hard to find. There seem to be many very pleasant, eager people more than ready to take a crack at public relations. However, finding someone will real natural abilities is another matter. Of course, Les has contacts and is actually fairly good at it. It's just that it's not his chosen field. We wanted someone to handle our PR for the entire campaign, but it didn't work out. Public relations can really be tricky.
Anyways, I've gotten to play a little SWTOR today (very little) and have been watching The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin (which is a truly hilarious British comedy from yesteryears) all day. I've still got today's update to finish. I decided to post it a little late to see if we wouldn't cross that $18K line before I did it. If it doesn't happen in the next hour or two I'm just going to give up and post. (The update will probably help us cross the line anyway, lol).
So, considering I have a little more work hanging over me coupled with the fact that I'm in a daze I think this is a good place to stop. That having been said: Goonight from South Carolina!
