Middle Of The Week
Today things got back to normal for me. I was up right before 6AM and started work before 7AM. I only had a couple of e-mails to start with. The dev team (and art team) have been working like crazy to get this new demo ready for the public. It's all tied up with our PR strategy for the last week or so of the campaign. In fact we've got just over ten days to go before we wrap it up. We haven't hit the $23K mark yet, but we still have plenty of time to get that $50K I want. It's all a matter of getting the word out. We've had almost no press coverage for during this entire campaign. Not that it really matters. If the news gets out three or four days before things end there will still be plenty of time for the word to spread and the cash to pour in.
Yea, I'm just putting pictures in. The fact is that we pretty much do the same thing from day to day. It's not very interesting to people who aren't personally connected to the family. I feel confident that once we become “world travelers” more people will start reading my posts again. Once that happens I'll go back to explaining what the pictures are. I will say that the insect is a cicada for those of you who may not recognize it.
I do think the “world travelers” phase of our lives is getting closer with every passing day. Worlds of Magic is now #73 on Steam Greenlight. You see, that connects to “world travels” because games that get on Steam tend to hit it big. Really big. And now we're in line and we keep moving up, thank the Lord. We had a number of articles posted this week in the Polish gaming media. If we can get the same kind of attention from the US media (as well as the rest of Europe) we'll very likely raise a great deal more money with the KS and, of course, get greenlit even faster. All that may very well lead to a better deal with the publisher we're looking at and will certainly lead to much better sales. Plus, media attention now will most likely lead to more media attention at release. Needless to say that will lead to even more sales. More sales will lead to “world travels”, which will lead to more readers, which will of course lead to pictures that are worth explaining. That's something to look forward to isn't it :)
I'm really looking forward to it myself. We miss our friends in Dominica, just as we missed our friends in the US when we were down there. It's nice to be able to keep up with them on Facebook and see pictures of DJ and Corin and Selwyn's baby (yes Josian, I've forgotten the child's name at the moment, but I did see the picture of him sitting in his seat). Hopefully we'll be able to go down there for a couple of weeks this Winter. Failing that I think we should be able to go in the Spring. Of course, tickets cost so much I really want to get a good sized boat (ship... I don't what the rule is there. I suppose “yacht” would be the word to use, but it sounds so pretentious doesn't it, lol). Either way, in the long run I want a way for us to travel around wherever we want whenever we want. I may even buy a plane and learn to fly in time.
This post has run long enough. I really need to try to call the Bellots in a few minutes. And I've got to write today's update as well. We took a couple of days off because there wasn't a lot of news, but the demo is brewing and we need to drum up interest. So I'm going to run. For the moment at least, goodnight from South Carolina!
