The Road To Recovery

I awoke today after a night of deep, and mostly cool, sleep. I'm still not completely well, but I'm a lot better off than I was. I dug into my mighty pile of work and sat at my computer as hour after hour passed away. It's amazing how time slips through my fingers here. Of course, I worked for about an hour and a half trying to get a group of videos put together into one piece and set to music. I finally gave up. No matter what I do my video editor messes up the videos taken with Gabriel's camera. I feel certain there's a fix for it, but I have no idea what it is at the moment.

Either way, at some point Rachel took this picture:

She thought it was cute because the boys looked like a ying-yang.

At some point in the afternoon Dilian dropped by with DJ. He told me he had bought me my first cutlas (machete) while he was Antigua. He had dropped by to give it to me while he was on the way to his mother's house. Rachel took a couple of pictures of me with my first cutlass.

He says if I don't cut anybody with that for a few weeks I may be able to get a full sized one, lol.

I walked down to his Mom's house with him while I took a short break from my work. When we got back he helped supervise as Gabriel cooked his first bakes.

He did a great job. His were better cooked than the ones I made the other day.

Later in the afternoon Rachel, Alec and I went for a walk. I took a bunch of pictures.

Once we got back I took most of the kids down to the sea. Alec had gotten enough exercise on the walk and decided to stay at the house today. I took even more pictures.

I also got some pretty good video that I can't seem to get working. I'll try again tomorrow. I did get these underwater pictures.

Gabriel was the one who spotted the lobster there. I wish I had gotten a better picture of it.

Either way. for the moment this is it :) So, goodnight from Dominica!

  1. Glad you pointed out that was a lobster. I didn't know what it was. Glad Gabriel has learned to makes bakes now. Enjoyed the pics and glad you were feeling better today. Love you all, Mom

    1. It shouldn't be that long until you can come visit us in this tropical paradise :) That should make you feel good. You may even get to see a lobster yourself, lol.
