A Brand New Adventure
Last night was crazy... I mean crazy... There was blaring music until I don't know when and hundreds of non-Soufriere residents wandering the streets. They were yelling, laughing, driving right by our window with their radios turned up to full volume.
Generally I have a fair amount of patience about such things. I mean, we live in the very center of Soufriere. Our house is at the corner of a crossroads with a bus stop right across the street. To a certain extent you have to expect “party traffic” to be a bit of a disturbance now and again. Still, last night I thought “Come on...” more than once. In fact, I almost got up and took a picture the fifth or sixth time I'd been awakened. I looked out of the window and the road was still full of people.
I was afraid all the noise would make for a rough first night for the boys. Not so. They slept like logs and woke up ready to rock and roll. In fact, when I got up at 6AM Alec was already up and playing on one of the computers.
I got up and tried to get to work. The server was having a bit of trouble though so I didn't get as much done as I had hopped. Either way, things are teed up for tomorrow. I knew I needed to run to town and get a case for Gabriel's computer. The kids have to share computer time as it is and two more boys and no more computers would have been trouble. I only wanted to get one case for the time being, so I decided that hooking up Gabriel's made the most sense as it's the fastest. (He knows he's going to have to share it.) I went to town and got back ASAP. By the time I returned Rachel was cooking breakfast. She wanted me to take a picture of a heart shaped bake that showed up in the pan. So I did :)
At some point this morning Alec decided to wake Ben up. He enlisted Caleb's help and used his video camera to film the results.(It opens with Caleb screaming. I just thought I should warn you...)
Before long I took the boys down to the Sea.
Alec took a few pictures of his own including a phone he found on the sea floor and a dead land crab. (He also took the picture at the top of the post.)
While we were there we tried out Gariel's underwater camera. The results weren't bad, but again, we need something better in the long run.
Rachel got a few pics of a local dog loving on Isaac.
We need a dog before we move to Pond Casse.
Later in the afternoon (after me, the boys, and Abby had played a video game together for a few hours) we decided to go for a walk. Rachel carried Isaac and Titus in her new wrap :)
Needless to say I'm worn out. I'm hoping work goes better tomorrow. If it doesn't I'm going to end up working through the weekend. (At least through part of it...) I'm calling it here. I think I've given you plenty of blog for your money tonight, lol. So, good night from Dominica!
