Sickly Sunday

This morning I awoke unsure as to whether or not I was going to go to Church. I still wasn't feeling 100%, but once I was fully awake I decided I should make the effort and go anyway. I didn't want the boys to miss Church the first Sunday they were here and I didn't want them to have to go without me. So, I got up, got shaved, and got ready.

Everyone else got dressed fairly quickly today and I doubt the bus had to wait on us for more than 5 minutes. Alec thought it was cool that our Sunday bus driver is also named Alec. He said he's the only other Alec he's ever met before.

After we got to Church I took a few pictures.

As services went on I got feeling worse and worse. Brother Dilian trimmed his sermon down a bit because there were some people needing to run heavy equipment who were waiting on our service to finish before they started. To be frank I was grateful. I was beginning to feel almost light headed by the time the service wrapped up.

The bus couldn't get all the way back to the building because of the equipment on the road so we had to walk a short way. It actually made me feel a little bit better.

The fruit above is something I can't remember the name of (Rachel thinks they may be called canips), but they taste a lot like scuppernongs (Jemma bought them and gave us a couple of clusters and we certainly appreciated it).

Most of the rest of the day was spent goofing off on one game or another. I was actually sick enough I didn't feel up to playing much. Of course, I can't sit doing nothing either, so I played one of the laziest games I could find and worked on my maze generator some more as well.

The above picture is a cool cardboard helmet Caleb made. He did a pretty good job of finding things to do while Daddy was out of action. I did try to take them to the sea late in the afternoon, but there were a LOAD of people down there. Some other party was going on. I don't know what it was about, but the music was booming and the sea was full of people. The water was too murky to take any pictures. Isaac started screaming almost as soon as he got in the water. He has a small cut on his foot and the salt water was hurting it. I don't think we stayed five minutes.

I'm sick and tired, so that's all I have to offer today guys. Hopefully tomorrow we'll be able to do a bit more. :)

For the moment, good night from Dominica!

  1. Sorry you feel bad, but was glad you were able to go to church with the boys on their first trip to church in Scotts Head. You got some beautiful pics of the sea, for sure! Also some cute pics of the little boys in their matching outfits! Hope you feel better tomorrow.
    Love you all,

  3. Lots of good pictures today of the kids I love them. Love the one of Titus in his seat. Caleb's helment it great too. Do the butterfly sandles fit Libby? How about a picture of that? I notice Felicity inherited the swim vest and that is great. It looks good on her. The fruit looks like limes to me. Was it raining anyway Rachel must like the umbrella. Felicity has been working on her tan for sure. Guess that is all and it is great to be able to hear the video and I didn't ever turn it down thatis how it was when I got this computer. So hope to see more videos soon.

    1. Umbrellas are useful when trying to avoid the sun as well as the rain. ;)
