Happy 4th Of July!

Happy Independence Day to all! I woke up this morning after having, yet again, slept very well and jumped into my normal routine. I'm going to be fairly busy next week and really want to have the weekend to lay around and do nothing. As a result I need to get a lot done before the end of the day tomorrow. In the spirit of that I worked on from morning until afternoon with very few and very short breaks.

I'm happy to say the work paid off. I've got the D20 System tracking all the essential stats and even making attacks and calculating damage. I hope to add a few more frills tomorrow before I call it a day. I'll probably start putting together the damage resistance system, but really I have to look over my notes before I decide what area to start filling out first. Either way, if I keep talking about it I'll start getting technical and even more boring than I have been so far.

While I was taking one of my short not-exactly-a-breaks I took a few pictures of the kids hanging around the house.

It is a bit of a challenge to do complex programming (well, somewhat complex) with the kids running all over screaming, lol. I'm really looking forward to being in Pont Casse. I plan to setup at least one of the computers in our bedroom to work on. This computer is actually in our current bedroom, but I'm working on the floor which hurts my wrists. Now, for a brief time I may have to work on the floor out there because the place is unfurnished and I'm not going to be able to buy furniture the day I move in. Either way, in the long run I should be able to setup a bedroom office out there like I had back home.

At one point I did take a quick walk. I was on a quest for eggs, but took a few pictures while I was out.

A couple of hours after I got back I was done with work for the day and started making more bread. As many of you know I'm cheap. If I don't have to spend money I won't. Well, this morning I took a tiny bit of yeast and tried to raise enough to use in the bread by the time I went to actually make the dough. I failed and the bread wouldn't rise, so I had to mix more yeast in. Still, the theory's sound and I plan to try again tomorrow :)

For dinner Rachel tried to make a not-meat loaf. It uses beans and seemed like a cheap alternative to beef for our family.

Well... it's not for us. It's not bad. It's just not for us, lol.

After dinner some of the kids wanted to go to the sea (as they usually do) so I took them.

I've got the bread baking right now. It makes the house smell nice. Once we're established in Pont Casee I want to try making some key lime pies, baking cakes, making our own sorbet, etc. There are a lot of good natural ingredients around here. We might as well use them.

One a side note, it's been cool for days. I mean cool for around here. I doubt it reached much more than about 80 today. Needless to say that was nice. The last few nights have been cool enough for me to need a sheet. In fact, last night the wind was whipping through the room and for a moment I thought I might have to go get a blanket, lol.

Anyways, it's close to TV time so I'm going to run. Good night from Dominica!
