The Blessing Of Rest
Today I woke up determined to do as little as possible. I had slept very well and seriously wanted to goof off. Thank the Lord, I got to. I'm going to have to start taking pictures of the games I play and the code I work on in my spare time. Otherwise some of these posts are going to be a little “picture light”, lol.
As I sat working on my maze generator this morning Felicity ran in telling me that I had to take a picture of the big dead cricket. I went to humor her and got a picture of something rather familiar.
If you can't make those out they're fire ants. They really give you that homey feeling :)
After that picture I sat at my computer for hours working on my maze generator and playing Dwarf Fortress. I'm trying to mix some other games in there just to broaden my horizons. When I was younger I had tons of game ideas. Then I got older, started work, and got further and further from my gaming roots. Now, some people would think that was great. However, now that I'm going to be a game developer I've got to fire up my gaming imagination again. I'm glad to say it's going well.
I also took the time to take a look at the maze generators currently on the asset store. There are some nice ones on there, but none that offer what I want to. One thing I realize I want to add is support for 3D mazes that are made up of more than one level. Either way, it's going very well and I'm learning more and more about unity.
I sat there working, playing, and eventually making bread dough until it was time for our trip to the sea.
That's sugar cane. I haven't taken a picture of it yet, but it's everywhere. I know it was back in SC as well, but it's nice that we can get a taste of home. :)
After we got back I started working on getting my bread ready to bake while Rachel worked on cooking up a whole bag of chicken. I took a few more pictures of everyone just because.
I also got one of my bread.
Now, that's not a lot to show for the day. So, I uploaded another video. It's us riding from Soufriere to Point Michel and a little beyond. I hope you enjoy it.
Well, that's it for the moment. Rachel is about to head to sister Corin's baby shower and I am going to code/play some more. So, good night from Dominica!

I really enjoyed the video. It did give me a good glimpse of Dominica. I had wondered if the sides of the roads were similar to ours, but it is a lot different. Sure are a lot of curves and the vegetation is a lot different even though I think it looks like the jungle beside the road down here sometimes! It just looks so peaceful there! Love y'all and good night.
ReplyDeleteDriving down the road is an experience :) Of course, from Roseau to Pont Casse it's a little different. It's a lot more like driving in the blue ridge mountains.
