Clear Skies

The storm has passed us by and things are back to normal. I woke up a hair late. For some reason the alarm didn't go off again this morning. I'm going to have to make sure it's working before I go to bed tonight. Either way, it only cost me a few minutes. I was up by 6:30 or so.

Before I get into all that I'll share a picture Rachel took last night after bed.

Isaac had found his “babies” and fallen asleep with them.

As usual I jumped into work this morning. This week I've mainly been collating ideas from the forums and updating the wiki as well as working details out in my head. We've got a lot of “game” left to put together for Worlds of Magic, but step by step it's taking shape. The beginning of next week I plan to start coding on the D20 system again. I may even play with it some this weekend. I'm only a few days from having it ready to plug into the battle board. After that I can add more and more to it.

I decided to go for a walk this morning, as I often do, to rest my wrist and my brain. Caleb wanted to come along this time and I let him.

The photo just above is a caterpillar if you couldn't make it out. Caleb is very good at looking around.

Once he found that hill he wanted to make some videos. So we did :)

He likes to be on video, lol.

That's a bird's nest I found and some goats living right down the road.

Caleb wanted me to take a picture of the spider and as I was leaning over I noticed the snail on the tree.

A truck drove past carrying construction materials. I wonder if it was for the family living on the old plantation down that road. It's hard to say...

You wouldn't want one of those branches to fall on your head. And, no, I don't know what kind of tree that came off of.

There were lizards everywhere (as usual) and that last one is some kind of crane (if you can see it).

After we got back I got some more work done. Before it was time to go to the sea I got to work on my maze generator a bit. In fact, I think I have all the basic functionality in place now. I plan to make a video early tomorrow morning to show what I've got so far. Over the next week or two I plan to add more generation methods and a “sample scene” to go with it. Then it should be ready for the asset store.

Either way, eventually “Sea Time” arrived once again.

School's out now and so there was a bit of a crowd. Still, our kids love having more kids to play with (being the poor socially awkward homeschoolers that they are). The water was also very cool and very clear. We stayed for close to an hour.

Well, that's it for today. It's time to kick rest and relaxation into high gear. So, good night from Dominica!

  1. I am so glad Caleb went along on your walk so we got a lot of pictures of him exploring the place. Seems I'm always telling you something to try to make the blog better but I do think the videos should be a bit longer. The one when the got the letter was only about 40 seconds. It could have lasted twice that long and panned down to the kids when they moved out of it. It looked like Caleb may have been doing cart wheels almost but you couldn't tell. Anyway guess thatis all for today. Love to all my little people.

    1. He had a good time walking with me and did a pretty good job of keeping up. I'll probably start taking him with me more often.

  2. It's been a loooog day for me. It's 11:36 p.m. and I'm just now looking at the blog. It was good, but I'm tired so goodnight from SC.
