Just Another Day In Paradise

It's amazing how quickly you can make a transition if you have friends to help you. We owe a great deal of thanks to the Bellot family, brother Freddy, and the entire congregation. Last night I went to bed having eaten my fill of leftovers from what Josian had cooked for lunch yesterday and having taken the cold shower Dilian advised. Thank the Lord it rained last night. It was just enough to cool down the air and let us sleep peacefully. It even got cool enough I covered up with part of a baby blanket at some point in the night. Today has also been a lot cooler than yesterday. I woke up at around 6AM and got to work as I like to do. While it was still early I decided to take some pictures to show you what it was like when it was cloudy in Dominica.

The Bellots invited us to their house for lunch and by the time we headed up that way the clouds had cleared away. It's only a few blocks up the hill. They are staying in a very nice house.

It affords some beautiful views of the neighbors houses and the surrounding mountains.

Before long Josian served us “Chick and Noodles”. Yep, it doesn't have a name. It's some chicken and some noodles, so that's what they call it. It was very good. They also gave us some more tips of grocery shopping. We bought bread that was too much for too little as it were.

I came back from lunch and worked for a few hours. Ben, Libby, Abby, and Isaac came home with me and entertained themselves in the usual manner.

By around 5PM I had gotten enough work done to take the kids to one of the local hot spring baths. They had a very good time.

We found some coconuts while walking back toward the village waiting for Freddy to pick us back up. We also saw a number of other fruit trees including Mango, Nutmeg, and Apricot. We were so busy we forgot to buy anything for dinner. But it worked out because we just ate some of the coconut. I don't think you could get it any fresher.

Tomorrow we're supposed to go grocery shopping again and see if we can't go take a look at another house we're thinking of leasing. Anyways, I hope to do another post tomorrow and give you guys the play by play of what is happening with us.
