I woke up today after a night that was cool enough for me to get a sheet before I went to bed. I still have a slight cough, but I am certainly getting better and better. I think just getting into a routine again is helping me adjust a great deal. In fact, getting back to my routine makes it plain that there's really very little to adjust to. The fact is I would be in almost the same shape back home if the AC, TV, and DVD player had all broken at the same time. Once we get a cool house I plan to look into a cheap TV and DVD player. I may just order them off Tiger Direct. That's what Dilian does. Once I actually place an order I can let you know how it works.
Today I took the last of a series of pictures I thought you guys might find interesting. It's a banana leaf opening. It's kinda cool if you've never seen it before.
I also took a picture of a couple of rooms just to show how clean Rachel has got the house now.
It also shows you that this is a nice house, even if it is too hot. We are looking at several other houses ATM, but I'm not sure if any of them will work out. We want something in the country with land. We like having chickens and really want a goat for milk. We may even try making our own cheese. Especially after Alec gets here. He wants to be a cheese maker for some reason...
Before lunch Dilian's Mom showed up to help Rachel cook. Dilian showed up a little later. He was going for a sea bath and invited me to join him. I did and ended up taking Caleb and Isaac with me as well. We didn't stay for long. About 15 or 20 minutes is apparently the recommend dose when you're sick. Either way I took a few pictures you might like.
By the time we got back lunch was ready. It was chicken, rice, and dumplings without any particular name. It was very tasty, very filling and very affordable. That's exactly what we need at the moment.
A little later in the afternoon, after my work was done, we decided to take the kids down to the sea for a few more minutes. Ben didn't want to go so I took a picture of him doing what he would rather do that swim in the Caribbean Sea. I also took more pictures of the kids and the clear water.
That's about it for tonight. As part of getting back in our routine we plan to watch a little TV on the computer. Then it will be time for bed. I plan to get a little TV on the TV once we get more established. :)
Very interesting blog tonight! Loved all the pics. Hope you and Dilian are both feeling better! Love y'all!
ReplyDeleteI would be happy to lather sunscreen on myself and the children and play down in the water while Rachel fixed lunch for us! Sounds like a plan! (For me that it------not sure how much fun it would be for Rachel-----hahaha.) Better yet, load up the crock pot and all of us go for a swim---or to the hot springs---or on a hike! I'm ready! Let's go!
ReplyDeleteI am basically well now, thank the Lord. Dilian said he was feeling much better yesterday afternoon as well. So that's good.
ReplyDeleteRachel would probably appreciate someone taking the kids out for an hour or so a day, lol.
Glad everyone is feeling better! I can't imagine being surrounded by such beautiful creation and not getting better more quickly. God has supplied us with so many things to heal us right out in the open, only here in the US, we've killed much of it off to make our perfect little lawns and gardens and parking lots. :( It seems the island would be a good place for you to live off the land. If you can get some. ;)
ReplyDeleteIf we can get some land, living off it would be a piece of cake. It's certainly among our long term plans. As is having a garden with some healing herbs in it :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these beautiful moments and pictures. Absolutely beautiful! Adjusting to a different atmosphere always throws your immune system off. Keep sharing. I love reading your blogs. Huge thanks to April for passing this along! ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy it. I plan to keep blogging about our lives day by day. It kind of acts as a record of what we've done and I think it's different enough from back home to be interesting. Plus, of course, it's easy to take loads of beautiful pictures here :)
