House Hunting
Today has been a day of working and riding. The work has been more cutting a path to my Worlds of Magic work than actually getting any of it done. You see, I have yet to get my 2012 taxes filed... Now, before any of you fall over dead with a heart attack I want to point out that my taxes are almost always filed in September. My tax man is so used to filing an extension for me that last year when I gave him my information the second week in January he still didn't give them back to me until September, lol.
The issue this year is that I haven't gotten all the paperwork ready yet. So, I needed to get twelve months of tax info ready in a couple of days. Thank the Lord that's not such a big deal with the software I use. I should have it all done early tomorrow. Then I'll jump onto my Worlds of Magic work and hopefully I'll make real progress over the next few weeks. I hope to get all the remaining major design information in place in the next two months. It's going to take a bit of work, but it's worth it.
Keep in mind that we're waiting to hear from a publisher several rungs up the food chain from us. Keep us in your prayers. We are really hoping this will go through because it will make finishing the game and publishing a little easier. It's not that we need it, just that we want it :)
Either way, after I had gotten several months of tax information taken care of I decided to take a break and go house hunting. Now, this was not rental house hunting. We have a couple of rental houses we're looking at and we're waiting for more information on them. What we were looking for today were houses we might want to buy. We've decided we really like the idea of being in the US for three months and then somewhere else for three months (wintering in Dominica, etc). So, we want a house in the US for when we come back. We don't want to keep moving. We want to have things we keep here and things we keep elsewhere.
Our current plan is to buy a double wide trailer once this game is finished. If I can't pay cash I'm just going to keep renting. However, Lord willing, this game will make enough where I can buy a double wide and some land with cash. Then we'll finally be able to say goodbye to house payments and hello to world travel, lol. A double wide trailer may not be the fanciest house in the universe, but we feel confident it will work for our family.
I took pictures as we drove to Augusta so our friends in Dominica could see what it's like.
By the way guys, this is what we call a river in the states. In fact, this is just the Savanna river. It's not even big for a river :)
I took a picture of a train and a few more in town.
I took a few pictures of the trailers just so you guys could see that they are very nice. I mean, I was basically born and raised in a trailer, lol. We like them :)
Once we were done trailer shopping we swung by a US icon. The Walmart.
Granny bought some fries from the McDonald’s in the Walmart and Rachel thought our Dominican friends would get a kick out of the fact that they sell ice cream just for dogs here (yes, we think it's crazy too...).
After we got home I drove back to Williston to pick up Ben, Libby, and Caleb. I also had to find some bank statements I had misplaced. Thank God I found them. I need them to finish the tax info. Somehow I pierced my shirt with a splinter while I was digging through things.
On the ride home I had Ben snap a couple of pictures of a very pretty cloud. For some reason the pictures turned out blue...
Anyways, it's late and I still hope to get some work done tonight. So, for the moment, goodnight from South Carolina!

The ones that look they're inside a house are trailer pictures. Really a trailer is basically just a house on wheels.
ReplyDelete14 - 22 are the trailer photos :)
It's always nice to go house hunting with your family because you can also get their input if they like the house or not. How's it going? Have you already found different options to choose from? Just make sure that the house fits both your lifestyle and preferences. Thanks for sharing!

Living in a trailer sure sounded fun! But as you said, having a house that you can return home to after some fun adventures in different places is such a sweet idea, so I hope you'd get to find one that would fit all of your preferences.
