Another Busy Day
So, I had work, Church, and moving to attend to today. Plus, there was a fellowship dinner that made Church last about an hour longer than normal. Anyways, I woke up around 7AM and got started. The programmers hadn't started work yet and I only had a little e-mail work to do first thing. I took the opportunity to handle several write ups I had to finish about the Alpha Battle Board. (In fact, I'm downloading the latest build right now. As soon as it's tested it will be time to share it with all the backers.)
I didn't get a lot of pictures today, what with everything going on. These first three are of Mom Y, Caleb, and Felicity asleep in bed. Rachel wanted me to point at that they were all sleeping sideways, lol.
We headed to Church close to half an hour late and, as a result, got there close to half an hour late. Class was probably more than half over by the time we got seated, but everyone seemed glad to see us. Better late than never I suppose. The sermon was all about brotherly love and was a good message to precede a fellowship dinner. The food and company were excellent. Sadly, Mom E. couldn't be there. Somehow she's managed to get pink eye. Lord willing she'll be better in the next few days and can come visit us in our new place.
After Church we headed to the Cling's to pick up some of the furniture they had stored for us while we were in Dominica. They also generously offered us a couch and love seat which we gladly accepted. It won't be long and we should be snuggled very cozily into our new house. It won't take Rachel long to get the house feeling “Just like home” especially with all the furniture that we've managed to salvage and have donated.
From the Cling's we went to the house in Jackson to drop things off. From there I headed strait to Mom and Dad Y's house to get to work. The new build was ready about 20 minutes before I got back, so the timing was pretty much bang on (as they say). I got all the write ups completely prepped up and I've already downloaded it, tested it, and rolled it out to the backers. (Yep, I finished that since I started writing this blog). Right now I'm waiting for feedback and bug reports. I'll probably have to “man the deck” for a few hours before I can go to bed. At least I got a real good night sleep last night.
One of the other things I worked on today was looking over other Kickstarter projects. It's kind of an interesting part of my job, but I don't have time to tell you about it now. I'll have to find the time to soon though. It's part of my work I really like.
I think one of the reasons I have been sleeping better is playing SWTOR. It helps me relax and gives my mind something to think about that doesn't really matter. So, I'm going to stop here and go play some. (Keeping one eye open for feedback on the battle board of course.) So, the time has come to wish you all a very good night from South Carolina!

Loved the pics today! I was actually soooo disappointed that I could not attend services today. I had been looking forward to the dinner for about a month. I always enjoy worship service, but I was looking forward to the fellowship and having all our grandkids (except one) together again at one time in one place. Still, we know that God has his reasons for everything. I'm glad everyone had such a good time and Fritz brought home a huge plate of food AND a plate of desserts for me! I'm typing this with an eye patch over my "bad" eye. I hope this pick eye goes away soon. When I was a child, my mom would boil water and put some boric acid in it and bathe my eyes with that. I haven't been able to find boric acid over the counter, but maybe I just don't know where to look. Most likely, you can't just buy it otc anymore. Anyway, hope to see you all settled in the new house soon. (Also hope none of the kids--or adults----end up with pink eye!)
ReplyDeleteLove y'all,
Mom E.
Yea, we certainly don't need pink eye, lol.
DeleteAnyways, maybe you'll get to come by the new house in the new few days :)
The best thing for pink eye is breastmilk. That's what Rachel and I used in Dominica. Love the Pics
ReplyDeleteYes, we forgot to get Mom E. any two days in a row, lol. We've just had a lot going on :)
