Calm Before The Storm

Work today went very well. All I did was handle a few e-mails and write up and post an update for our backers. It was all about the progress we've made on actual game play. It's a lot considering we've only been working on it since the beginning of May. A lot of the code we used before our first Kickstarter campaign was for “proof of concept” and had to be rewritten or expanded for the real game. I was able to tell the backers about the progress we've made and so far the feedback has been positive. (Not that I've gotten a great deal yet, lol.)

After I had the update ready to post, but before I actually posted it, Joey Miller arrived to help us move the washing machine and dryer we got the other day into the new house. We also hauled a few mattresses and a set of shelves over. It looks like it's going to be Saturday before we can move in because of the Internet. Still, it will be 25% faster than it was at our old house for around ½ the price, so I'm not complaining.

The fact that we should be able to get in this weekend is probably going to make tomorrow a crazy day. Especially since we're supposed to launch a playable version of the battle board tomorrow. Backers (along with a few of my close personal friends) will be able to go to a website and actually play out battles on a couple of the Worlds of Magic battle boards. We're hoping it's going to get a good reception. Either way, I have to be very prepared to spend hours talking to the fans. So, there's a good chance I'll have a lot of work dropped on me just as we're moving into a new place. Life strikes again! Lol. Really though, Lord willing it won't be that bad. We're probably going to get a lot of feedback. But I expect most of it will be good or, at the very least, useful.

Enough about work for the moment. On to the pictures:

Rachel is making Shepherd's Pie for dinner, which is something we haven't had for a good long time. Also, we got Titus a bouncy seat today. He should build up a little leg muscle in the next few weeks. :)

The first picture is a moss that grows on clay and can be found all over SC. The other photos are of wild flowers (weeds).

I love the way empty lots look here. They remind me of my childhood. There are many old fields around here that have a few trees growing in them and tall grass. When I was young I would wander through fields, forests, and swamps. Empty lots remind me of that time of my life. Now days I can't do that because I'd be arrested for trespassing. They don't arrest children for that though, so until I was almost 18 I went wherever I wanted, lol.

I forget the name of these plants, but the seeds are covered in a fine white “hair”. If you suck on them they are a combination of sweet and sour. Of course, you need to take a good look before you pick them and stick them in your mouth, lol.

Spike had run out to greet me when I got back from my walk. I took a quick photo of him running back to the house.

Anyways, that's it for now. I'm going to play some SWTOR and try to get plenty of rest. I'm pretty sure tomorrow's going a busy day for me. Keep me in your prayers and wish us luck. Lord willing the backers will like what we have to show them.

As usual here's wishing you a very goodnight from South Carolina!

  1. Loved the pics. Glad Joey could help. Is Saturday going to be the "big" move-in day? Let us know so we can load up what you want from here and bring the boys to help. Hope you get some good rest tonight.
