Happy Birthday Ben

Today has been quite a day. It's now 8:26PM, I haven't turned on SWTOR today, and I'm just now getting to blog. Work wasn't really the big time eater either. In fact, almost no one thing was the BIG time eater. It was just a matter of this little thing followed by that little thing. The day started with a little e-mail and a little forums work. I think I was done with all that by around 10AM. After that Rachel and I loaded up a little of this and that from Mom and Dad Y's shed and headed over to the new house. It turned out we could have turned the water on Friday, we just didn't know it. Either way, as soon as we got here this morning we turned it on. I also took the time to hook up the washing machine. I couldn't hook up the dryer because we have a four prong wire and need a three prong. We hope to get one before the end of the week.

The first three pictures are Isaac and Felicity enjoying the new kitten. (Yes, we got one yesterday. Our family can't go long without getting a new pet.) The other picture is of Rachel writing with the only pencil she could find in Mom Y's room that was sharp and not white. (I have no idea why Mom Y. has a bunch of white pencils in her room. They're not much good on regular paper... Also, none of the five or so pens she had on the desk worked...) Rachel was making a list of a few things we needed when we got here. The giant pencil looked funny, but it wrote fine.

After she left to take Titus for a checkup Ben, Isaac and I headed for Williston. Ben took a few pictures as we drove along.

We had gone to get a few appliances out of the old trailer. It turned out we had more out there than I remembered. There was a washer and dryer that used to be my cousin's, the first refrigerator Rachel and I ever bought, A dishwasher we had got at some point, and an electric stove. We have to go back tomorrow to get more. I hadn't planned on getting that much today as there were some things on Mom and Dad E's porch we wanted to get. And we had to get some of Alec's stuff as well. Now that we have a house again he's moved back in with us.

Once we got back to Mom and Dad Y's me and the boys (along with some help from Rachel) started loading up more stuff to move. (During all this I kept having to stop and go work on e-mail, the forums, and our Wiki.) I also took a moment to take a couple of pictures of Caleb and Felicity playing. Caleb caught a toad and wanted to share it with all of you.

A little later Mom and Dad E. showed up bringing Jacob Benton (AKA Young Jacob) along with them. We sang Happy Birthday to Benjamin three times trying to get all his siblings in the room before he blew out his candles. It was kind of a slim birthday for the boy. Most of us are broke with everything that's been going on. Still, Ben is a “my cup overfloweth” kind of guy. (Which is one of the many reasons I love him.) He loves his brothers and sisters (and his cousins, etc.) and knows that it cost me quite a bit to get them to Dominica and back. So, he didn't complain about the fact that all his Mom and Dad could give him was a “Happy Birthday!” He's a good boy :)

After that we drove four vehicles over here and started unloading and unpacking. We have enough beds setup to sleep and we've already got five computers up and running. I think I'm even going to take a few minutes and play a little SWTOR before I go to bed. Either way, it's 8:53PM right now and I still have to post this blog. So, once again, goodnight from South Carolina!
